Compare Embrace to Fetch by the Dodo

Embrace Pet Insurance has been protecting pets for close to 20 years, and our experience shows. Fetch by the Dodo Pet Insurance has extended claims processing times, a longer waiting period for accidents, lower customer service ratings, and most importantly, lack of an optional preventative care plan, 24/7 pet health line, and multi-pet discount. These are advantages offered by Embrace, an experienced insurance provider.

9 Reasons to Consider Embrace over Fetch Pet Insurance

1. Fetch Doesn’t Offer a Wellness Plan. Embrace Does.

Unlike Fetch by the Dodo – which doesn’t offer a preventative care plan to help with routine care for your pet – Embrace offers Wellness Rewards which pairs perfectly with your accident and illness policy to protect your pet in sickness and in health. Wellness Rewards is a non-insurance wellness plan you can purchase in addition to your insurance policy to help with yearly exams, vaccines, spay or neuter procedures, training, grooming, and more.

2. Embrace Offers a 24/7 Pet Health Line. Fetch Does Not.

Embrace’s PawSupport pet health line gives you access to Pet Pros who can offer you around-the-clock decision support about your pet’s health. Access to PawSupport is included in every Embrace policy at no additional charge.

3. Embrace Has a Shorter Accident Waiting Period.

Fetch Pet Insurance has a 14-day waiting period for all accidents. Embrace Pet Insurance has a two-day waiting period for accidents so your pet will be covered sooner.

4. Fetch by the Dodo Takes Longer to Process Claims than Embrace.

Claims submitted by Fetch policy owners are typically processed within 15 days, which can make budgeting difficult when unexpected expenses arise. Most of Embrace’s claims are processed within 10 days, with Wellness claims taking as little as five.

5. For Pre-existing Knee, Cruciate Ligament, and Hip Dysplasia Issues, Fetch Has a Six-Month Waiting Period.

While Embrace has a six-month waiting period for orthopedic conditions (dogs only), an Orthopedic Exam and Waiver Process is offered which may reduce the waiting period to as little as 14 days.

6. Fetch Doesn’t Cover Rx Food.

With Embrace’s Wellness Rewards preventative care plan – a non-insurance wellness plan that can be purchased in addition to your policy – your pet’s prescription diet food and nutritional supplements are covered.

7. Embrace Offers a Multi-Pet Discount. Fetch Does Not.

Embrace offers a 10% multiple pet discount for policies with two or more pets. If you love having more than one pet, you’ll love having more savings. And, the discount is added automatically, so there’s nothing extra you need to do.

8. Fetch Doesn’t Cover the Costs of Microchipping.

As part of Embrace’s Wellness Rewards preventative care program, the cost for microchipping is reimbursable along with other important products, procedures, and treatments like wearable pet activity monitors, training, routine chiropractic care, massage therapy, toenail trimming, and teeth cleaning. Wellness Rewards is a non-insurance wellness plan that can be purchased in addition to your policy.

9. Embrace Offers Superior Customer Service.

Since its founding in 2003, Embrace has insured over 590,000 pets and paid over 1,040,000 claims. Those impressive stats are driven by superior customer service, and has earned Embrace a TrustPilot score of 4.3 versus Fetch by the Dodo’s 4 score. Embrace is also highly rated with Consumers Advocate and Google Reviews, and named one of America’s Best Insurance Companies for 2022 by Forbes.
