Brian comes to Embrace with 18 years of experience in the direct-to-consumer and affinity sales of financial products, including home loans, property and casualty insurance, accident and health insurance, and Medicare. Beginning his career as a mortgage banker at Quicken Loans, Brian worked his way up to an executive leadership position at the company and has since created significant growth in similar roles at National General Insurance and other entrepreneurial ventures. He lives in the Cleveland area with his wife, two daughters, and chocolate Lab, JoJo.
Will Lazzaro leads the Information Technology team and he is responsible for the strategic technology plan at Embrace. He has over 20 years of experience building software and supporting business systems. Will received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University and his Masters in Information Architecture from Capitol College. Prior to Embrace, Will has built world-class software in many industries, including transportation logistics, EHS, cable tv, and patent law. Will has a passion for building cutting-edge software capable of scaling to customer demand. He has lead agile teams in Big Data and Blockchain initiatives. Will enjoys spending time out on Lake Erie with his wife and three kids.
David leads the Embrace marketing team with over 10 years of experience in digital marketing, PR, and advertising. His expertise spans multiple disciplines across several industries, including consumer packaged goods and retail, and he has a Bachelor's from Baldwin Wallace University where he studied marketing and organizational leadership. Prior to working for Embrace, David was already an Embrace policyholder for his Great Dane, Big Ben, who works as an active therapy dog in his local community.
Chris is proud to serve as Senior Director of Operations at Embrace. With more than 15 years of experience in operations, and 10+ years at Embrace, Chris has a strong background in both hands-on leadership and initiative-driven development. With his commitment to pet parents always leading his decision making, Chris is determined to drive Embrace forward in the pet health insurance industry. He loves Cleveland sports and spending as much time as possible with his wife and three kids.
Melissa graduated from the University of Akron with her Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering. She worked as a product development engineer for an international manufacturing company for the first 10 years of her career before moving to the IT side of things in a business process role. Melissa came to Embrace to streamline the claims process and fell in love with the company’s culture. When not at Embrace, she loves camping and traveling with her husband and three children.
Eric has almost 20 years of work experience, including roles in public and internal audit, various private and public company roles, and previous experience as a controller at a transportation logistics company. He holds CPA, MSA, and PMP designations. As Senior Controller at Embrace, Eric oversees all aspects of finance and accounting operations, including monthly close, reporting, analysis, payables, billing, and forecasting. Eric enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and his 9-year-old chocolate Lab, Quincy. Eric and his family moved back to the Cleveland area when he started at Embrace in 2015.
Maggie leads the sales team. She has over 15 years of experience in sales leadership, including 7 years in insurance. When she is not at Embrace she is playing sports, traveling, enjoying being a bonus mom, and playing with her 3 fur babies – Tyson (dog), Nismo (cat), and Mugen (cat).
Jenna started with an Associate’s degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and went on to receive her Bachelor’s in Biology with minors in Chemistry and Theater from Bowling Green State University. After 15 years working as a Registered Veterinary Technician, she joined Embrace as a Claims Adjuster in 2011. Jenna was promoted to lead, then manager, and was made Director of claims and Chief Underwriter in 2017, overseeing nearly 50 members of the claims team. Jenna is responsible for implementing time saving system changes and advancements that get our Embrace policyholder’s claims processed quickly and efficiently. She has five Embraced fur-kids – Hazel, Lou, Charlie, Quinn, and Harry.
Ashley Qualls is the Human Resources Director responsible for building a thriving culture and keeping Embrace an employer of choice in Northeast Ohio. Though a Cleveland native, Ashley graduated from the College of Charleston, South Carolina with a Bachelors in Corporate Communication. She spent the next 12 years living and working all over the United States, during which time she found her passion for Human Resources and dedicated herself to improving the employee experience. Ashley brought that passion to Embrace in 2014 – along with her two dogs (Bacon and Ruby) and one cat (KittEN).
Kelly is the Director of Business Development at Embrace, with more than 18 years of P&C insurance experience in Sales and Marketing. While she started in the direct-to-consumer space, she progressed into a career focused on business-to-business sales. With a passion for insurance and a desire for personal growth, Kelly’s executive leadership path was driven by her tenacity, energy, and pure grit to get things done. When she’s not trying to take over the world of insurance, you can find her spending time with son, fiancé, and their two Russian blue cats.
Brian leads the product and data science teams at Embrace. He joined Embrace with more than 12 years of experience in actuarial, product, and pricing analysis at major personal lines insurance carriers. He is a lifelong learner who obtained his Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) designation and is currently pursuing his Master’s in Data Science at Northwestern University. Outside of work, Brian, his wife, and three children love to travel and explore new areas of Cleveland.
