Merlin-Labrador Retriever

Background

Labrador Retrievers are known for occasionally getting themselves into trouble. Such was the case with Merlin, a 4 year old Lab living in New York City, NY. His love of chewing led to a cracked tooth that would have to be removed.

Merlin's pet parents, Iden and Nicole, tell the story:

"Merlin the Labrador loves to chew on everything he can, from tennis balls to sticks he finds on walks in the park. We brush his teeth every day, so we quickly spotted the crack in his tooth. It was cracked down the middle, all the way under his gums. The dental specialist said that because the crack was so large, the only solution was to extract Merlin's tooth. Furthermore, the tooth was a molar, so extracting it meant spending most of the day at the animal hospital.

The surgery was a success! The first thing Merlin wanted to do upon returning home was eat dinner. (Not even anesthesia and pain medication can dull his Labradorean appetite.) We emailed Embrace our paperwork and received a check a week later, which happened to be the day after Christmas and was a wonderful present. A few weeks later, the stitches are now completely healed. The experience was stressful, especially since it happened around the holidays, but Embrace's easy claims process and quick response made it so much easier. Thank you!"
