Background

Barron's rear leg lameness came about gradually, and while it seemed to be better on some days, it never went away completely. He seemed to be particularly sore after he played hard, and then rested. X-rays were done to diagnose Barron with not one, but two partially torn ACLs. It would take two separate surgeries, and several weeks of recovery before Barron would be fully on his paws again.

From Barron's owner, Tom:

"I am the proud owner of one of the most loveable animals I have ever owned. His name is Barron and he is a 4 year old pit bull mix. All my life I would always get purebred dogs but decided to adopt a stray. We brought our 8 week old pup home. Barron is an active dog and loves to play frisbee and go for hikes. He is an only dog, but does have a cat to harass if he needs to - the two are best of friends.

After hearing horror stories from a friend about their dog and the costs involved with treatments he received my wife and I looked into pet insurance and decided that Embrace was the way to go. Barron had to have not 1 but 2 major surgeries on his rear legs, after injuring one while playing, and the other by chasing after animals in our back yard. He also suffers from hip dysplasia.

We decided to have the most non invasive procedures done on both legs and Embrace was on our side 100 % not only after the procedures but during the trying evaluation time to see if his injuries were covered. Barron is doing well after his emergency surgeries and we hope all turns out well and he can again be an active and hopefully accident free dog. Barron and my family made the right choice by choosing Embrace as our security blanket and will add another dog to the policy once Barron is fully on his paws."
